In February 1992, 12 European countries signed on Maastricht Treaty establishing the European Union, With the entry into force the Treaty in early November 1993, the last chapter of European countries’ seeks for unity has been ended after decades of war and hostility. The treaty of Maastricht was not the first of its kind as an attempt to a reunion yesterday’s enemies. The first attempt was in 1951 when 6 countries were; France, German, Belgium, Luxembourg, the Netherlands and Italy agreed to form European Coal and Steel Community (ECSC) which form later the seed for the European Economic Community and then The European union.

European countries have joined the European Union until the number of joined reached 27 countries, after croatia’s joined in 2013 and the Prexit in early 2020. Although currency union and lifting travel restrictions among union’s countries, every country of the union kept on its distinctive customs and culture. The national culture definiates every people’s values and distinguish them from other people. The most notable value, and emerged enormously in quarantina, is the value of Solidarity with Others or the rise of individualism and introverted in personal interests. European countries are different in individualism and solidarity indicators, so some indicators refer to this European edifice, in fact can not reduce values’ differences among its countries in last 40 years.

This report try to answer the question: Will Europeans – particularly in the context of the Corona virus crisis – appear more in solidarity with others or more individualized and focused on their personal interests? by presenting the results of polls conducted over the past years to measure value differences among European countries.
